Todd Dobrin For New York City - 47th District Councilman   Todd Dobrin for New York City Councilman of the 47th District

On Oct.10th, Todd Dobrin, Assemblyman William Colton and Congressman Michael McMahon held a press conference to publicize a potential threat to the public that needs to be addressed in New York State.  In a post 9/11 world, knives are being sold to the general public that can avoid detection in our schools, airports, and other public places employing metal detectors.

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Todd Dobrin and I have officially entered the race for New York City Councilman of the 47th district which encompasses;
Bath Beach, Coney Island, Gravesend & Bensonhurst

I am the fourth generation to live in our community, a working man and community activist.

While living and working in NYC I have a vision to make our community an even greater place to live and raise a family.

My family history in our community dates back over eighty years to 1926. My Great-Grandfather lived at 2846 West 36th Street. My Grandfather, a member of the Knights of Pythias met with his brethren at the Shore theater on Surf Avenue in Coney Island and my father worked at the Playland arcade in the 1960’s. My family established the foundation for my involvement in the community and I am continuing in that tradition. Currently I am an active member of Community Board #13 and a brief summary of my accomplishments and benefits to the community follow:
